Frequently Asked Questions
Which countries does APPTUTTi reach?
China.
Which Android app stores does APPTUTTi cover?
APPTUTTi covers all of the major Android app stores in China, excluding Huawei AppGallery. They include Tencent, Baidu, Qihoo 360, Oppo, Vivo, Mi, 4399, and TapTap.
What monetization options does APPTUTTi support?
Games submitted to APPTUTTi through UDP should monetize via one of the following options:
  • In-App Purchases (IAP)
  • video and banner ads
What is generally required to publish a game in China through APPTUTTi?

Foreign ad SDKs, social logins, and data analytics tools may not be allowed in Chinese app stores and must be removed.

Games must be localized to Simplified Chinese (APPTUTTi provides free professional translation into Simplified Chinese for the first 1,000 words).

What happens with games with IAP items?

All games with IAP monetization are strictly required to have two documents ready before launching in China: an IP Certificate and an ISBN (publishing license). These two documents will also serve to protect the game’s intellectual property (IP).

APPTUTTi can provide application services for these two documents at an additional cost. You can find a detailed list of materials required for the applications on APPTUTTi’s Partner Resources Portal. APPTUTTi can apply in China, on behalf of the developers, and manage the whole application process until a decision (approval/rejection) from the Chinese Government is received. For more details, please refer to this link: https://www.apptutti.com/partners/service_ip_protection02.php

IMPORTANT: IP certificate registration and ISBN applications are subject to approval by the Chinese Authorities. APPTUTTi will provide feedback on the review and approval statuses, but cannot guarantee that your game will be accepted by the authorities.

Once your game is accepted, APPTUTTi can help you publish the game to all of its partner Android app stores.

Do I have to set IAP prices in CNY?
Yes, prices must be set in CNY (Chinese Yuan, aka RMB). There are no restrictions on the number of billing points and their price limit, but consider market expectations when determining the price.
I already have a publishing licence (ISBN) for my game. Can I submit it to APPTUTTi?
Yes. Submit it through UDP and contact the APPTUTTi team via the following link: https://www.apptutti.com/corporate/contact-us/
What happens with games that do not have IAP items?

Games without IAP items are not required to apply for an ISBN (publishing license).

However, to monetize with ads, you will need to integrate the APPTUTTi Ads SuperSDK. Your game will get ad fill from local ad networks such as TikTok, Tencent, and Mintegral, which are allowed in China. You can download APPTUTTi Ads SuperSDK here: https://www.apptutti.com/partners/download.php?id=ads.

I submitted my game to APPTUTTi – what happens next?
APPTUTTi will review your submission and reply with options deemed suitable for your game. These can include:
  • applying for a publishing licence (games with IAPs)
  • implementing APPTUTTi’s Ads (games with ads)
  • modifying your game to remove SDKs that Chinese stores do not allow (all games)
Be aware that APPTUTTi may ask you to create and resubmit a distinct game build from the original UDP one.
How does APPTUTTi choose which three stores will publish my app?
APPTUTTi will submit your game to all of the available Chinese app stores. It will be published by the first three stores that approve it.
Is the APPTUTTi build that gets repacked by UDP the final store-specific build?
No. The APPTUTTi build that is generated by UDP will be used for review purposes by the APPTUTTi team and its store partners. Once the game is accepted by stores, APPTUTTi will repack it one more time to generate actual store-specific builds for your game. APPTUTTi will handle all the technical details so you don’t need to.
How do I access the APPTUTTi developer console after I register via UDP?
After registration via UDP, you can log on to the APPTUTTi Partner Resources Portal. Use this link to log on directly: https://www.apptutti.com/partners/signin.php
What are the rules and requirements for my game on APPTUTTi?
APPTUTTi accepts all kinds of games that comply with Chinese regulations on content requirements. Game elements that aren’t allowed include:
  • extreme violence (depictions of blood are best avoided, and cannot be red)
  • nudity and sexual acts
  • gambling
  • illegal activities
